Rice Warner Actuaries abides by the National Privacy Principles under the Privacy Amendment (Private Sector) Act 2001.

How we receive your personal information
Your personal information is usually given to us by your accountant, superannuation fund or insurance company. The information may include your name, address, date of birth, gender, occupation details, health information, salary, tax file number and any other required information. Where possible, we ask your superannuation fund or insurance company not to give us your personal information. For example, if your superannuation fund asks us to conduct a tender for the insurance for the fund, we need your gender, occupation, birth date and amount insured but we do not need your name. You will usually only give us the information directly if you are our employee or if we are providing you with financial advice about your own circumstances.

How we use and transfer your personal information
We only use your personal information to give professional advice to the client that gives us the information. We may transfer the information where necessary to:

   Auditors;
   Our professional advisers or the professional advisers of our client;
   Government regulatory bodies entitled to the information;
   Business support service providers such as archive providers;

How we store your personal information
If we have your information in paper form it is filed securely. If we have it in electronic form it is stored on our file servers, which are protected by firewalls. The information is stored in folders on the servers. Each folder has its access permission set so that only the appropriate staff may access your information.
